The 17-year-old flat water sprint canoeist, from Woodville, is a student at Burton and South Derbyshire College. He was selected for the European Championships in Romania after achieved second place in four events at the National Championships.
Ross says: "I have just finished the current sprint racing season having competed in Romania at the Junior European Championships.
"I have now started winter training which includes lots of weight training and a small amount of cardio training / paddling.
"My weight training at the moment involves a high amount of reps and a high amount of sets to increase muscle mass. This will be followed with lower reps and heavier weights to make the muscle I have grown over the winter stronger and more powerful.
"This training is mostly at Green Bank Leisure Centre Gym, with paddling spent at Anker Valley Canoe Club and GB training days at Holme Pierrepont and Dorney Lake. I'm training twice a day, six days of the week."
