Coach Bursary

The aim of the Coach Bursary Fund is to encourage and support the personal and professional development of coaches working in Derbyshire through subsidising the costs of coach education.

In order to be considered for a grant coaches must be coaching in Derbyshire and fit into one of the catergories below:

Paid Coach involved in either:

Community Sports Coach Scheme
Derbyshire Coach Mark
Sport Unlimited
SSP Coaching Grants
Talented Athlete Fun

Volunteer Coach involved in either:

Coaching within a voluntary sector club
Coaching on a school-club link or sport unlimited project
Supporting Step into Sport or Leadership Academy members
Coaching Talented Athletes
Derbyshire Leadership Academy Member

Coaches will be able to apply for a maximum of 50 per cent of the total cost up to a maximum of £200.

The maximum grant that can be claimed per organisation per financial year (April - April) is £300 for Level 1 courses and £300 for Level 2. There is no limit per organisation for other coach education.

Priority will be given to coaches who meet the criteria above and who are from under represented groups in coaching: women, black and ethnic minorities, disabled people and unemployed.

The Coach Bursary Fund will only fund Coach Education taking place during the current round or in the near future. We will not fund courses already completed.

Payment will usually be made after the course has been completed. Costs will be reimbursed upon the production of receipts.
