Ben Atterbury - Journey to the Final Fours
January 2008.
Half the season has already gone. We only lost one game in the beginning of the first half of the season that was to Leicester Beauchamp’s cannons. We only lost by 17 pts. We played Leicester at the very beginning of the season and we beat them by 11pts. I wasn’t prepared to lose any more games.
March & April 2008.
Play off month. So the stage was set for the play offs, we got home court advantage by winning the league. We won every game and we was on the way to the final fours.
Final Fours
We arrived there and was I ready to play. If we wanted to win then we needed to win Manchester Magic, they was ranked 1. and they showed us why they was number one. We ( Derby ) didn’t play as a team at all we all played a one player. We deserved to lose and that was the outcome we lost to Machester by 44pts. So that was it season was gone. But it wasn’t finished we had one more game left the 3rd and 4th play off. We had to play hackney white heat. A team from London. We finally played as a team and we won the match by 10 pts. It felt like I couldn’t like miss any of my shots. In that game It’s a great game to finish off the season, it’s a shame we didn’t win in the semi final.
