Table Tennis Update
Report by Mike Payne
Once again the junior table tennis league is up and running at Littleover Community School. Played on Tuesday evenings with 6 teams of 3 on a home and away basis it will run thro to March 2005. Orgainsed by the club based at the school the league has become a staging post for the winter league with 18 boys and girls making the transition over the last 3 years. Organisers Marilyn O'Sullivan and Arda Murphy welcome spectators and especially parents and boys and girls who are interested in taking up this fast and exciting sport. Coaching takes place every Thursday at the school starting with beginners at 6pm and then moving upwards in skill levels. Give Marilyn a call on 382369.
Adults are not forgotten amongst all this enthusiasm for coaching juniors. Players of all ages and abilities are welcome at the Mackworth College at practice sessions run by the Derby Association chairman Tony Young. Call Tony on 550255 for more details or just go along on Friday evenings at 7pm. Any Derby University students out there who have played in their home clubs are very welcome to come along.
