January Schools Tournament Results
Derby Schools tournament held at Littleover Community School on Saturday 15th January.
2 schools entered players for the first time - De Ferrers High School, Burton and Wellow School. We continued the practice of playing the girls not only in their own event but also in the boys events at their age. Abbie Milwain (Chellaston Junior) has caused upsets in past events but this time it was Emma Coles (Middleton Junior) and Kerry Mansell (Springwell Comprehensive) that ruffled the boys feathers. Emma was beaten in the final of this mixed event at Under 11 and Kerry lost in semi at Under 16 to Michael Lowden (Littleover Community). Michael lost in the final to Daniel Shaw (Chesterfield) but elder brother Tommy won the Under 19 event beating Sieben Li (Woodlands) in the final. Adam Smith (Chaddesden park) had a good run in reaching the semi final at Under 11 and lost in the final at Under 13.
