SCHOOLS TABLE TENNIS TOURNAMENT

OPEN TO ALL SCHOOLS

Saturday 15^th January 2005

at Littleover Community School

The tournament is for improvers and beginners.

The tournament is organised and run by the Littleover Table tennis Club

There are 4 age events for boys and girls separately - Under11 (primary/junior age), Under13 (Y7 & 8), Under16 (Y9, 10 &11), and Under19 (Y12, 13 &14). Players may play in their own age group and one other older age group. There will be trophies for winners and for runners up.

Play starts at 1pm with the Under 16 and Under 11s. Under 19 and Under 13s will start at about 2.30 pm but could be up to 30 minutes earlier. The first round of each event will be in groups of 4 wherever possible to increase the number of games/player. 2 players from each group go through into the first round. The entry fee is £3.00 per player for each event payable on reporting to the control desk at the tournament half hour before your first event. It is unlikely that entries will be accepted on the day.

The ETTA laws of table tennis will apply and matches will be of 5 games to 11. Suitable clothing (not white) including shorts or skirts is to be worn. Black soled trainers are not to be worn in the sports hall. Players are expected to umpire in their group and help from parents/coaches would be appreciated throughout the event. Only by this means can we ensure a reasonable finish time.

Coaches and parents are requested to wear sports shoes (ie not outside shoes) in the sports hall. Only sports drink bottles are allowed in the hall and food should not be eaten in the hall

Directions to venue: The school is on the A5250, Burton Road , which is between the Derby Ring Road A5111, and the A38. Go thro the entrance, past the main school and on to the sports hall.
