Ferrarelli Appointed as Derventio eXcel's Assistant Coach
Derventio eXcel , the premiership swim squad in Derbyshire have appointed Simon Ferrarelli as assistant coach to further develop elite swimming in Derbyshire. This appointment is as a result of a successful Community Coaches Fund bid. This role is also supported by Derbyshire ASA.
Simon (21) is a highly talented and respected emerging coach with a proven track record of producing national age group swimmers. He is currently part of the Nottinghamshire Nova Centurion and Midland District coaching staff. His role will be to develop elite swimming opportunities in the north of the county and to assist Mark Rose , the Head Coach, in the continued improvement of the established southern section of Derventio eXcel .

I am really excited about working with such a forward thinking squad. It is an excellent opportunity for me to make my mark. I will be looking for excellent skills in the pool at all times. I hope to be on deck with the swimmers in the next month.

Derventio eXcel is a partnership between the existing twelve feeder swimming clubs in the area, Derby City Council, South Derbyshire District Council, Amber Valley Borough Council, Derbyshire Amateur Swimming Association, British Swimming, the Derbyshire Peak Park Sport and Recreation Forum, the University of Derby and Derby College. It is one of a select number of squads that are endorsed and supported by British Swimming.
