Derby Childrens Triathlon

The Derby Triathlon club is organising a childrens triathlon event on the 27th June 2004. Last year, despite clashing with the football world cup final, we had a record 145 entries, double the number in 2002. This year we anticipate even more entries.

The aim of the event is to have fun.

We try and keep the entry fee as low as possible hopefully ensuring that the cost of the event is not the prohibiting factor. With an £8 entry fee we are able to provide a goodie bag for all competitors as well as a certificate of completion and a medal for all finishers.

All you need is a swimming costume, a pair of runners, a bike and a helmet then you can enter.

The course length varies depending on your age. The category that you race in is based on the age of the athlete on the 31^st December 2004. If you are 8 on the day of the race but 9 on the 31^st December, unfortunately you will have to race in the 9/10 year old category. Those are the rules I am afraid!

The race is also part of the National Children’s Triathlon Series, and will be sanctioned by the British Triathlon association.

Members of the organising committee will come to your school or club to talk about the event with interested competitors. As the 27^th June draws near further information regarding the event will be posted on our website - http://www.derbytriathlonclub.co.uk/ . Entry is limited to 200 competitors.
