Girls & Women's Football Development Officer Appointed

The Derbyshire County Football Association are pleased to announce the appointment of a full time Girls and Women’s Development Officer in Keely Brown , who commenced her role at the DCFA on Wednesday 26th January 2005 .

Keely will be responsible for developing all aspects of Girls and Women’s Football, linking into the key National F.A. objectives of Charter Standard Schemes, Coach Education and Club Development.

Her role is a joint venture funded by the County Football Association, Derbyshire Sport, the Football Association and helped greatly by the Football Foundation. The Football Foundation have been a key partner in the funding of the role and the Derbyshire County F.A. cannot emphasise the importance of the support offered by the Foundation. All partners would like to take this opportunity to thank the Football Foundation for their outstanding support for enhancing the football provision in Derbyshire.

Jon Woodward, the Football Development Officer for the Derbyshire County F.A. said, “The appointment of Keely not only adds to the strength and depth of the Development team here in Derbyshire, but will benefit all existing and future players in increased opportunities and provision for football throughout the county. She joins us from local authority involvement in Staffordshire and her background includes working with professional club’s Football in the Community Schemes. Her experience from these areas will add to what is an exciting and progressive time in Derbyshire for sport as a whole, and in particular, football.

Keely commented, “I am really excited about joining the football development team at Derbyshire County F.A. and am looking forward to building on and enhancing existing work involving girls’ and women’s football throughout the County.
