Coaching & Leadership Training Course Grant Scheme

The area's natural facilities provide an excellent environment for a wide range of outdoor recreation and sporting activities, the vast majority of which are right on the doorstep.In order to encourage more young people to participate and take up these activities 50% grants are available for the following courses to Teachers, Youth Group Leaders / Helpers and volunteers wanting to formalise existing experience in gaining a recognised Instructional / Leadership qualification:

 

Who is eligible for a grant?

Any person living or working as a volunteer with a group resident within Derbyshire and the Peak District National Park.

This grant scheme is specifically for voluntary people giving up their own time to work with youth and disabled groups. Applications will be assessed on the individual's impact on the development of outdoor recreation within the community.

It is not intended for people working professionally in the outdoor industry.

 

Where and when can I attend these courses?

Courses can be accessed through any recognised Providers within Derbyshire and the Peak Park area (further details of which can be provided on request). Grants will only be given towards course fees and not for travel costs.

 

How do I apply?
  1. Identify and confirm availability of course provider and dates.
  2. Complete the downloadable application form and return.
  3. A reply will be given within 1 week of receipt of application.
  4. Closing date for applications is 31st December 2004. Course to take place by 28th February 2005.

Note: (Please allow at least two weeks from the time of submitting the application to the start of the requested course.)
