High Peak Disability Sports Conference
High Peak Disability Sports Group held it's first High Peak Disability Sports Conference on Wednesday 25 April, at New Mills Leisure Centre, Hyde Bank Road.
The High Peak Disability Sports Group works to increase opportunities in sport for disabled people in the High Peak. It has representatives from various organisations involved in the delivery of sport, and from several disability services.
The aim of the conference was to raise the profile of disability sport by providing an opportunity to share information in an informal setting. People who have an interest in developing disability sport opportunities at recreational or competitive levels attended.
Representatives from clubs found this a useful event because they received helpful information and a certificate of attendance, which contributes towards supporting any Club Mark application.
The event was a very useful and informative day with very good feedback from all who attended.
