Grant Schemes
High Peak Borough Council offers a number of grant schemes that are available to sports clubs and organisations:
Community Fund
This fund is a grant scheme available to voluntary organisations and community groups who provide services, facilities and activities to improve the quality of life for residents of the High Peak.
The aim of the fund is to assist in the development, promotion and co-ordination of sporting, artistic, cultural, community, environmental, educational and development initiatives within the High Peak.
Any constituted voluntary/community (non profit-making) group can apply for a grant from the Community Fund for either capital or revenue funding, to help with running costs for an event, the purchase of equipment or improvements to facilities.
Levels of funding
The Community Fund will consider funding up to 33% of projects that cost £1000 or less and 25% of projects estimated to cost over £1000.
Leadership in sport and recreation scholarship grants
The scholarship scheme aims to provide support to Volunteers who either live in, or volunteer in the High Peak, to enter into leadership for the first time, or to develop skills of existing leaders so they can broaden their skills, or progress up the coaching pathway.
Objectives of the scheme:
- To offer grants to individuals to enable them to access education and development opportunities, which may take place within or outside the High Peak.
- To offer grants to sports clubs, community groups and other voluntary organisations to enable them to organise education and development opportunities for their volunteers.
Levels of funding:
- Up to a maximum 100% funding is available to for course costs for individuals who are part of a target priority group as defined in the Councils Sport and Recreation Strategy Action Plan;
- Up to a maximum of 80% of course costs for individuals who are not part of a target group for priority identified in the Sport and Recreation Strategy Action Plan.
Sports Development Grants
The Sports Development Grants scheme aims to provide support to schools, clubs and voluntary organisations in the High Peak, in order to develop sport and recreation opportunities.
The funding can be used for equipment, training courses, coaching fees, facility hire, transport and other elements that contribute to the development of new opportunities for participation.
Levels of funding:
- Up to a maximum 100% funding is available for projects targeting priority groups as defined the Councils Sport and Recreation Strategy Action Plan;
- Up to a maximum of 80% of costs for projects that do not target priority groups identified in the Sport and Recreation Strategy, Action Plan.
The Maximum amount of funding available to any one application is £250
