Join the Fun Family Fit Club!

Places are still available on a 12-week programme that aims to encourage families to become more active and lead a healthier lifestyle.

Erewash Borough Council has joined forces with Active Life - a provider of nationally-recognised qualifications in personal health and fitness - and South East Derbyshire College to stage the 'Fun Family Fit Club'.

The programme starts on May 4 and is held every Wednesday from 6pm to 8pm at West Park Leisure Centre, Wilsthorpe Road, Long Eaton.

Each 2-hour session will include a fun-based activity involving all the family ranging from playing games to using fit balls. Families then learn more about health and wellbeing through various activities and workbooks which include topics such as healthy eating, the benefits of exercise, stress management and shape management.

Upon full completion of the programme, participants of 16 years and over will be rewarded with an ABC Level 1 Certificate in Developing Personal Health and Fitness.

The programme is open to families consisting of a minimum of one adult and one child. Children must be aged 11 years or over. The cost is £1.50 per adult per session and free to children, courtesy of funding from South East Derbyshire College.
