Funding Application for Sport in Erewash

The Erewash Community Sport Network is currently seeking significant investment to develop sport in Erewash. The Executive Board of the Community Sport Network have been working very hard over the past few months to develop a portfolio of projects that will be funded by the Community Investment Fund, Erewash Borough Council, Healthy Erewash Partnership and School Sports Partnership.

In total the portfolio of projects will cost around £140,000 and will be based on the needs identified by the network members over the past year. Projects will include the support and development of quality clubs and coaches in Erewash and the extention of pilot projects to get more girls and boys into sport.

Sport England have already seen the benefits to sport in Erewash and approved the stage 1 application and the Executive Board are now pulling together the required information for the stage 2 application which will be submitted in March 2008. In addition, the Community Sport Network has already secured £35,000 to develop sports volunteering over the next three years to support the portfolio of projects.
