Summer Holiday Schemes

Derbyshire Dales District Council is running a packed programme of sporting fun throughout the school summer holidays. Activities during July and August take place at venues across the District including the District Council’s leisure centres.

Young people aged five to fifteen can take part in a wide range of coaching sessions including football, athletics, multi-sports, cricket, tennis and cycling. Courses are available for beginners and for those with more experience with Top Play sessions for those aged from 5 to 7 years.

Leaflets giving details of the programme are available from District Council Offices, Leisure Centres and Tourist Information Centres.

Chairman of the Community and Environment Committee, Cllr Mrs Goodison said ”As always Derbyshire Dales District Council is providing a full and varied programme for young people across the whole of Derbyshire Dales and I am proud to launch this programme of activities for 2004.”

Many of the courses get booked up quickly so the District Council are urging young people to book their places as soon as possible to avoid disappointment.

For more information please contact Sports Development at the District Council on 01629 761380, or for leisure centre-based courses, call the appropriate centre.
