Launch of Safer Communities through Sport Project

The official launch of the Safer Communities through Sport Project will be taking place on Saturday 3rd April at Tideswell Sports Complex.

To mark the occasion there will be the chance for young people to take part in a variety of activities all free of charge including

The Youth Club will be also be open from 11.00am – 2.00pm for young people to chill out in and the Mobile Information Unit will be available.

Safer Communities through Sport is a partnership approach to developing sport and reducing anti-social behaviour in rural Derbyshire. The project is funded through Sport England’s Active Communities Development Fund and from Sporting Futures, High Peak and Derbyshire Dales Community Safety Partnerships.

This five year project will focus on 10 wards across High Peak and Derbyshire Dales with high levels of anti-social behaviour and low participation in sport.
