Bike Route

The Hathersage Hilly Triathlon Bike route is approximately 19.4km in distance, and takes a competitive look at the area in and around Hathersage and the Hope Valley.

“The bike route is rolling at first, along the B6001 to Grindleford, with short, steep descent to a right turn at a T junction at 2.5 mi (compulsory stop here); then in the same style along the B6001 towards Calver and a left turn at 4.3mi onto the A625 and Froggatt Hill. Care is required on the left hand bend over the bridge at the bottom, then this road winds steeply up the hillside for 250m of vertical ascent until, out of the trees by the Longshaw National Trust property, you turn left at the T junction (7.8 mi) onto the B6054 and then left again (although in reality straight on) at the Fox House pub onto the A6187 at 8.6mi. This road takes you initially fast downhill (care left hand bend) then up a long and shallow rise before a right hand bend and a steep, winding descent back down into Hathersage Village. Ride into the village on the A6187 then turn left back onto the B6001 at 11.8mi then turning left back into the transition area by the Pool after a further 0.2 miles.”
