Launch of Chesterfield Sports Club Forum

Chesterfield Borough Council and NED District Council have launched a joint Sports Club Forum for the two districts.

The Forum will provide local clubs with information regarding local, county and national sports initiatives, training opportunities for club members and funding opportunities. It will enhance partnership working between clubs, schools and local authorities.

Sixteen clubs representing different sports attended the first meeting, organised by the Borough Council at the Winding Wheel. They heard presentations from Derbyshire Sport about recent developments at the County Sports Partnership and the School Sport Partnership, who provide pathways for clubs to create links with local schools.

Each club who attended the forum received two free coach education course placements for a course of their choice in the New Year.

Future Forum meetings are open to all local clubs within Chesterfield and North East Derbyshire.
