Roadshow proves a hit with clubs

Around thirty people from twenty Amber Valley sports clubs attended the first ‘Clubs Roadshow’ set up by the Amber Valley Sport & Leisure Development Group and held at Belper Town Football Club on Thursday 6th December.

The evening, which was open to all Amber Valley sports clubs, featured presentations on Funding Opportunities by Angela Quinn from Amber Valley CVS, School/Club Links by Paul Goodley from the Amber Valley School Sports Partnership and Club Mark by Gaz Buckley from Amber Valley Borough Council.

There was also the opportunity for clubs to take away some useful resources and find out about forthcoming courses/workshops that will be taking place in 2008. In addition, all Clubs that attended were entered into a free prize draw to win £75 towards equipment for their club – the lucky winners were Ripley Savers Lifesaving Club who will use the money to buy training support materials for club trainers.

100% of attendees rated the evening as either excellent or good and they all said they would recommend the Roadshow to other clubs.

The Roadshows are scheduled to take place twice each year, with the next one likely to take place in June 2008. For further information, please contact Gaz Buckley (Sports Development Officer) on 01773 841443 or gareth.buckley@ambervalley.gov.uk
