Eccles All the Way!

Ecclesbourne Secondary School were victorious in the recent English Schools Football Association (ESFA) year 7 girls 5 v 5 Football tournament that took place at Belper Leisure Centre. Seven secondary school teams from across Amber Valley competed for the chance to now go on to represent the Borough in the Derbyshire stage of the competition.

In a closely fought final against Belper Foundation Secondary School, Ecclesbourne came from behind to win 2-1 in the closing minutes of the game. Each player received a certificate for taking part, which were presented by Jane Dutton of GFC Alfreton Town (Secretary). The Amber Valley Secondary Schools Sports Association, ESFA, JETIX and Amber Valley Borough Council?s Sports Development unit also supported the competition.
