DSSA is one of the longest-standing schools’ sports associations in the country. Throughout it’s existence of over 70 years, DSSA has provided a driving force for competitive school sport in Derbyshire.
Recent years have seen a large shift in the school sport infrastructure that surrounds DSSA and as competition within and between schools becomes a greater priority for national Government, so the need to provide the right infrastructure within Derbyshire has assumed ever greater importance. In light of this, the DSSA Executive Group took the decision in early 2007 to begin a comprehenisve review process.
The review process examined all areas of DSSA’s work and funding. Through a programme of consultation a range of proposals. These eventually formed a new DSSA Constitution, which was ratified at an Extraordinary General Meeting in May 2008. A new Executive Group, with all stakeholders included, was elected at the Annual General Meeting in October 2008.
The revised DSSA Constitution can be accessed by clicking on the link below.
