Scarlett Williams

Scarlett Williams.

Scarlett is a 13-year-old gymnast from Chellaston who won a gold medal at the English Championships on the vault at Espoir Level. She is also the youngest member of the Junior GB European Women's Squad, having been re-selected in June.

Scarlett says: "I am currently ranked second in Great Britain for my age and was selected into the Great Britain Junior European High Performance squad at the start of 2016.

"I train 24 hours a week at Notts Gymnastics Academy and also attend training sessions throughout the year with the GB squad at Lilleshall.

"I have recently been selected to represent Great Britain for my first international and will compete at the Olympic Hopes Cup in Czech Republic in November, competing against the top junior gymnasts from around the world.

"My goals for the year are to maintain my ranking in Great Britain for my age group and remain eligible for contention for the Great Britain squad in 2017.

"Having been selected for my first international, my competition goals are to look to gain further selection for internationals in 2017 and work towards my goal of competing at the Junior European Championships in 2018.

"It will also be my first time competing at the British Championships at the Echo Arena in Liverpool so I'm excited to go and compete there."
