The 31-year-old middle and long distance runner, from Riddings and a member of Derby AC, is on the Derbyshire Institute of Sport programme and became English Champion over 5,000m by winning the CAU Inter-County Championships, as well as breaking a long-standing club record over 1,500m.
Richard says: "Winter training has now begun in preparation for the 2016 season. My highlights of 2015 included a 13.46 PB over 5000m in Belgium and breaking a 33 year old Derby AC record with my PB of 3.41 over 1500m.
"My aims for 2016 are to continue to build on this, defend my England and Northern titles, and improve on the marks and performances I set in 2015.
"Having won the Derby 10km for the third year in a row in 2015, I also enjoy and intend to carry on supporting local events representing my club Derby AC.
"I also aim to continue to demonstrate that although combining full time work with training is a challenge, with hard work, commitment and good support (for example from ICON), it is possible to continue to represent my country on the road and on the track, as I hope to do again in 2016."
