The 15-year-old triathlete, from Derby Triathlon Club, is a member of the East Midlands Regional Academy. She achieved eighth place, a year young, at the British Championships.
Rebecca says: "My training is currently focused on a mix of specific skills improvements, base fitness, strength and conditioning work with some high intensity VO2 max efforts.
"To achieve this, I have a mixed training schedule, across swim, bike, run and gym work. Added in are some cross country races and swim galas to keep the feel of racing and training during this base and build period.
"For the bike, I'm currently on a Watt Bike training programme to improve bike peddling technique as well as speed and power – these vary and can be really tough requiring a lot of concentration and effort.
"I'm also looking forwards to a Spring 2016 training camp in Lanzarote for some warm weather training to gain some specific focused training pre-race season with some mini racing.
"This is all vital work over the winter, spring months to enable me to perform at the highest level during the triathlon competitive season in 2016.
"My focus will be to improve on last season's performances and results at individual super series races such as Blenheim as well as an improved performance at the British Championships. This will then give me a better overall ranking in the elite British Youth Super Series.
"These are all important steps and developments moving forwards in progressing my sporting career with aims and ambitions to race at the Commonwealth Games, World championships and Olympics."
