They will take up the role at the county sports partnership in July, succeeding David Joy who is now Chief Executive Officer of England Golf.
Ilana is currently a Relationship Manager for Sport England, based in Loughborough. She is responsible for managing the relationships between Sport England and a number of National Governing Bodies of Sport to ensure effective implementation of their Whole Sport Plans. She has worked with Sport England since 2003 in the roles of Head of Sport, Physical Activity and Health and as Acting Regional Director.
Hayley is currently Director of the Community Sports Trust and in this role has been responsible for the development and management of a number of projects in Derbyshire, including Village Games and Community Games, working closely with many of Derbyshire Sport’s key partners. Prior to this, she has run her own consultancy and worked in sport development and policy roles with High Peak Borough Council.
As Director of Derbyshire Sport Ilana and Hayley will manage Derbyshire Sport’s core staff team and lead the development and implementation of the Derbyshire plan for sport ‘Beyond 2012: A Plan for Sport and Active Recreation in Derbyshire 2012 – 2015’, working with a variety of partners.
Ilana said: “I’m delighted to be joining Derbyshire Sport. There is fantastic partnership working across the county and a real shared vision to make Derbyshire one of the most active and successful sporting counties in the country by 2020. I’m looking forward to working alongside Hayley, the staff team and partners across Derbyshire to continue to make great strides towards achieving this vision.”
Hayley said: “Partners in Derbyshire are working hard to increase participation in sport and active recreation, improve player pathways and strengthen the sports system and are making good progress. I’m excited to be able to continue to contribute to this work in this new role alongside Ilana and the team at Derbyshire Sport.”
