28 February 2013
Since 2010, the bursary fund has supported the development of more than 700 coaches with grants totalling £118,045.
It has become an appropriate time to review the Coaching Derbyshire Bursary Fund due to the amount that is available to support coaches and a need for more focussed criteria where coaches will be assessed against their contribution to the aims of Derbyshire Sport identified in the Plan for Sport and Active Recreation in Derbyshire 2012 - 2015.
There will now be three rounds per year which will end the last day of February, June and October. The amount available to support coaches will be £20,000 per annum, split evenly between the three rounds.
The Derbyshire Institute of Sport sports; Athletics, Badminton, Basketball, Cycling, Golf, Hockey, Netball, Sailing, Swimming, Squash and Table Tennis will receive a maximum of £11,000 during the year commencing March 2013.
