Among the winners were Kevin Malone from Killamarsh Juniors Cricket Club, who won the Behind the Scenes award in recognition of his work to help ensure the smooth running of the club at every level, and Wirksworth & Middleton Cricket Club which won the Building Partnerships award for its work with the Rural Derbyshire School Sports Partnership.
This year’s Lifetime Achiever award went to Derek Slack from Old Glossop Cricket Club, who has played a huge role at the club for 50 years, while the Young Volunteer award was won by Christian Foster from Whitwell Cricket Club.
Other winners were Ashbourne Cricket Club, which received the NatWest CricketForce award, Terry Dorr (Officiating – Umpires and Scorers), and Niven Roper (Leagues and Boards).
The winners were announced during an evening at Derbyshire Cricket Club, where nominees were invited to watch the Derbyshire Falcons take on the Middlesex Panthers in a Clydesdale Bank 40 over floodlit match. Winners were each presented with a framed certificate during a ceremony in the Marquee Hospitality Suite.
DCB Club Cricket Development Manager Mick Glenn said: "The people who volunteer in cricket really are the lifeblood of our great game. Without their continued efforts, cricket clubs and their players would be much poorer within Derbyshire. We are extremely fortunate to have so many dedicated and committed people working to improve clubs and cricket in our County."
