Young people take part in dance showcase Interface10

Interface10, a showcase of inspirational dance performances by young people from Derbyshire and Derby City, has been held at Buxton Opera House.

The event is a Cultural Olympiad event inspired by the values of the 2012 Olympic and Paralympic Games, and represented the Interface between Sport, Health, Culture and Education.

The groups which performed on the evening were representing their school, district, community or organisation.

Some of the groups also had the opportunity to work with regional Dance Artists through Igniting Derbyshire Dance, an East Midlands Cultural Olympiad project designed to enhance and enrich young people's experience of dance.

Interface10 was a Stage 2 event for U.Dance; the national performance framework for young people's dance, managed by Youth Dance England.

The event was presented by Déda and U.Dance Derbyshire. Déda is a Dance Agency for Derbyshire and Derby City and works closely with U.dance Derbyshire to develop the local and county level performance opportunities for young people, as well as promoting regional and national U.Dance events.
