The team of six girls and three boys from the Amber Valley school was among 12 teams from around Derbyshire who had won their place at the final, having previously competed at a district tournament.
Swanwick finished the group stages with 21 points, enough to qualify for the semi-final where the team faced Taxal & Fernilee CE Primary School from Whaley Bridge, winning 2 -1.
Swanwick then played Calow Primary School in the final, winning the game 3 – 1 to be crowned Derbyshire High 5 Champions.
The county High 5 Netball tournament was held at Chapel-en-le-Frith High School on Wednesday 7 July, and saw around 160 pupils from schools across Derbyshire compete.
Prior to the county final each School Sports Partnership in Derbyshire ran its own tournament, and the winning team and runner-up from each partnership final was invited to compete at the county final.
Schools taking part include Taxal & Fernilee CE Primary School, Hague Bar Primary School, Cavendish Close Junior School, Firfield Primary School, Osmaston Primary School, Swanwick Primary School, Tupton Primary School, Homegate Primary School, Calow Primary School, Model Village Primary School, St Thomas Primary School and Bishop Lonsdale Primary School.
Pupils from Chapel-en-le-Frith High School who have undergone the Young Netball Organisers course were on hand to umpire and lead the activities along with leaders from support from leaders and volunteers across Derbyshire.
The event was supported through the DSSA Netball Association and netball clubs across Derbyshire.
