Cllr Hart, who is Cabinet Member for Communities – which includes sport - at Derbyshire County Council and Deputy Leader of Erewash Borough Council, was elected for a two-year term at the Derbyshire Sport AGM held on 06th July at the County Cricket Ground in Derby.
She is president of both West Hallam Football Club and West Hallam White Rose Cricket Club, and a lifelong season ticket holder of Derby County Football Club.
Cllr Hart succeeds Cllr Clive Moesby, who stood down after five years as Chair of Derbyshire Sport. She said:
“ I wish to pay tribute to the work of Cllr Clive Moesby, who has done an excellent job in steering the work of Derbyshire Sport over the past 5 years. I am grateful to the partners for supporting my nomination and now I am looking forward to getting started in this role and to playing my full part in helping to achieve our vision of making Derbyshire one of the most active and successful sporting counties in England.”
The Derbyshire Sport Annual Report 2009/10 was also approved at the AGM. This reports the progress made during 2009/10 towards the targets set out in the Plan for Sport in Derbyshire 2010 – 2015.
