Derbyshire, which qualified after the team became Midland Champions, has never made it through to the final four before.

The Derbyshire team includes boy international Nick Newbold (pictured), who reached the last 16 of the English Amateur, Craig Young, who won the County’s Men’s Championship, and Jack Cope, the Derbyshire Match Play Champion.

Also representing Derbyshire will be Joe Biggs (Chevin), Jamie Boler (Chesterfield), Josh Thorley (Broughton Heath) and Alex Weare (Derby College).

They will face Northern Counties winners Cumbria, South West qualifiers Gloucestershire, and Hertfordshire, the South East winners, at Goswick Golf Club, Berwick-on-Tweed in Northumberland, on August 24 to 26.

Each match of the three-day round robin tournament will consist of three foursomes and six singles over 18 holes.

In the first round of matches Cumbria will play Derbyshire while Gloucestershire meet Hertfordshire.
