Derbyshire U13 Badminton Juniors take second place at National Team Finals

Derbyshire’s U13 Badminton Juniors have taken second place at the National Team Finals, held in Hatfield.

The team qualified for the finals after topping their regional group, and earned a place in the top four after beating Yorkshire.

They then went on to beat Hertfordshire to secure a place in the finals – where they conceded their only defeat of the second, losing out to Buckinghamshire.

For the last two years the juniors have been coached by James Boxall, and have also received training from Donna Kellogg and Kristian Roebuck. Their county coaches include Jon Burman and Keith Beswick.

This is how the team qualified for the finals:

Leicestershire 20-0, Worcestershire 19-1, Staffordshire 20-0, Warwickshire 18-2, Shropshire 20-0, Flintshire 20-0 and Nottinghamshire 14-6

The juniors also secured the top spot in the league stats table for their amazing results.
