Pupils enjoy Special Schools Sportshall Athletics Festival

More than 70 pupils enjoyed a Special Schools Sportshall Athletics Festival held at Alfreton Leisure Centre.

Pupils take part in Special Schools Sportshall Athletics Festival

Taking part included pupils from Stubbin Wood School, Ashgate Croft School, The Pingle School, Swanwick School and Sports College, Alfreton Park Community Special School and Bennerley Fields School.

The festival gave pupils the chance to take part in activities such as sprints, throws and standing long jump.

The event was also well supported by 20 young leaders from South East Derbyshire College.

The festival was based on elements of the new athletics concept QuadKids, which is specifically designed to be inclusive, quick and fun.
