New report highlights successes of talented athletes

The report profiles each of the 76 sports stars who received a £300 bursary in the Fund’s first year.

Broken down by district, the report highlights the major competitions which athletes have competed in since January, and also looks at the major challenges ahead this year.

It includes photograhs of many of the athletes in action in their chosen sport, and at the various cheques presentations which have been held.

The report is currently being distributed to the 22 organisations which financially supported the Fund in its first year, as well as to athletes and their families.

The following local authorities have financially supported the Talented Athlete Fund: Derbyshire County Council, South Derbyshire District Council, North East Derbyshire District Council, Derby City Council, High Peak Borough Council, Amber Valley Borough Council, Bolsover District Council, Erewash Borough Council, Chesterfield Borough Council and Derbyshire Dales District Council.

A number of local companies have also contributed, including Derbyshire Building Society, Derby College, Derbyshire County Cricket Club, Lorson International, East Midlands Airport, Electrical Contractors Association, Fairgrove Group, Spirita, East Midlands Development Agency, PricewaterhouseCoopers, Rolls-Royce and the University of Derby.
