Players needed for Motability five-a-side football charity challenge

Enthusiastic adult players with all levels of football skills are needed to take part in the Motability Winter 5-a-side Football Tournament, raising money for national disability charity, Motability.

The tournament will take place on Saturday 29 November 2008, at the Powerleague Soccer Dome, Pride Park, Derby.

Teams of eight are needed to take part, made up of five players and three substitutes. An entry fee of £400 entitles each team to an action-packed afternoon, which includes use of the facilities, breakfast on arrival, participation in the tournament, a team photo and buffet lunch.

Teams can warm up on outdoor pitches from 11.00am, and play kicks off at the purpose-built soccer facility at 1pm. FA referees will be officiating at all the matches.

Aine Canavan, Motability’s Fundraising Events Co-ordinator, said: “Whether players just like a kick-about with friends or to play in a team, this is their chance to compete at a state-of-the-art venue and win some fantastic prizes. Our annual summer tournament was a huge success raising almost £17,000 for our Charitable Grants Fund, helping disabled people to get the car and adaptations they need to lead a more independent life.”
