Erewash secures Community Investement Funding to develop sporting priorities

Erewash Borough Council's Sport and Health Development department has worked closely with the Erewash Community Sport Network to successfully secure £83,000 of Community Investment Funding to develop and implement the sporting priorities identified by local sports clubs and partners in Erewash over the next three years.

The three main target areas are to increase the number of sporting volunteers; to increase the number of quality assured sports clubs; and to expand the 'Alive and Active' project to attract young females into sport and activity.

The various projects will cost a total of £148,000 to put in place and funding has also been secured from the Healthy Erewash Partnership.

Erewash Community Sport Network, Erewash Borough Council and Erewash School Sports Partnership can now start work.
