Rain doesn't dampen spirits at Derbyshire Schools and Youth Groups Orienteering Championships

23 June 2008

Constant, unrelenting rain could not dampen the spirits of the determined competitors at the Derbyshire Schools and Youth Groups Orienteering Championships 2008 held at Elvaston Castle Country Park on Saturday.

The children from Pennine Way Primary School, Swadlincote, were very unlucky to miss out on first place in the primary school competition. As in last year's championship they were pipped into second place by just one single point, losing out to Holmgate Primary School, Chesterfield.
