Sporting Futures has organised a Breakfast Run at the new Darley Barn Outdoor Centre, Darley Park, which will see runners able to prepare for April’s race with like-minded people.
It will be held on Sunday, February 3, and is free to all Derbyshire Building Society 10k or Fun Run entrants.
The training event, organised in conjunction with Mizuno, will include a warm up before offering runners a choice of a 20 minute walk/jog for beginners, a two mile run or, for the more advanced, a four mile run with a Mizuno athlete.
Training tips will also be available, as well as giving runners the chance to find a training partner if they don’t already have one.
A complimentary breakfast and drinks will be on offer after the run, in addition to changing facilities and showers.
Entries for the 10k and Fun Run will be taken on the day. The Breakfast Run is also open to non-entrants, at a cost of £2 per person.
To register your interest e-mail 10k@sporting-futures.org.uk, indicating your preferred distance. More details can be found at www.sporting-futures.org.uk (opens in a new window)
The Derbyshire Building Society 10k and Fun Run will be held on Sunday, April 20, with the route taking in Derby city centre before finishing inside Pride Park Stadium.
Organised by Sporting Futures, the event is a highlight of Derbyshire's sporting calendar, and helps to raise money for the Derby-based charity which uses sport to reach out to young people and help them gain life skills and communicate better with those around them.
