Tapton Park Golf Club is nominated for national award

Tapton Park Golf Club has been nominated for the GolfMark - Club of the Year Award 2008.

Run by the English Golf Union (EGU) and English Women's Golf Association (EWGA), one GolfMark club has been nominated in each of eight regions, and Tapton Park has been nominated from the clubs in the Midlands.

The EGU and EWGA have devised the ‘GolfMark - Club of the Year’ Award to recognise those facilities that have shown an outstanding and innovative contribution to junior and beginner golf.

The Award not only examines venues with High Achiever status, it also looks at which golf clubs have improved dramatically and through the work undertaken have experienced benefits to their facility, members and players.

The selected ‘Club of the Year’ will receive a selection of Canterbury clothing for the club’s junior section.

The winning club will be presented with the award at the 2009 England Golf Partnership Volunteer Awards on February 24 at the National Golf Centre, Woodhall Spa.
