High Peak pupils enjoy hockey tournament

More than 120 pupils took part in the Buxton Primary Schools Hockey Tournament, held at Buxton Community School.

The event was organised and run by Peter Danson from Buxton Hockey Club and the High Peak School Sport Partnership, and saw 12 teams of boys and girls from local primary schools competing.

The girls tournament was won by Burbage A from Burbage Primary School, winning 2 – 0 against Harpur Hill.

The boys tournament was won by Burbage A, with Harpur Hill B runners-up.

Combining the results of the boys and girls, Burbage were the overall champions, scoring 40 goals in 11 matches.
