350 people take part in Erewash triathlon

Held on Sunday, July 13, the event saw competitors complete a 400m swim at West Park Leisure Centre in Long Eaton before beginning a ten-mile bike ride.

The final event was a 5k run on a flat course in West Park.

Event winners include Carl Shaw (Overall Male Winner) and Nicola Walters (Overall Female Winner) and the overall Team Prize went to Groundwork Derby and Derbyshire.

A further 70 people took part in the 1 mile Family Fun Run on West Park.

The event, backed by Erewash Borough Council's Pride in Erewash Campaign, is aimed at encouraging new people to get involved in sport and physical activity.

More than £2,000 has also been raised through sponsorship for local charities.
