Highfields School in Matlock has been selected to be a Gold Star Center for sports leadership.
The award has been made by Sports Leaders UK following an evaluation, and the school is one of only five establishments in the East Midlands to achieve the status.
As a result the school will now receive £250, and will be awarded a further £250 on reaching a number of agreed requirements in February 09.
