Sport Relief comes to Derbyshire

Sport Relief is coming to Derbyshire, with a host of events to get people active while raising money for charity.

So far seven Sport Relief Miles are due to be held around the county on March 16 – with two in the High Peak and South Derbyshire and one each in Chesterfield, North East Derbyshire and Erewash.

Residents across Derbyshire are being urged to take part, and have the choice of three distances: one mile, three miles or six miles – meaning there is something for everyone.

Each of the Sport Relief Miles are being organised locally, and many of the events will also be accompanied by other sporting activities to make it a day for the whole family.

Derbyshire’s Sport Relief Miles will be held at:

By taking part, and asking friends and family for sponsorship, runners will also be raising money to help vulnerable people in the UK and across the world's poorest countries.

Derbyshire’s Sport Relief Miles will be among more than 200 taking place across the country on March 16.

They follow the huge success of Sport Relief in 2006, when a staggering 400,000 men, women and children did a Mile for Sport Relief.
