British Honours for Derventio's Broom

Jamie Broom is one of just six male swimmers that have been selected for the British Swimming Off Shore Swim Squad based in Australia . Jamie will live in Australia for two years and enjoy the very best in coaching and sport science support in order for him to break through at senior level. The project is part of a continued push by British Swimming to compete at the highest level at the 2008 and 20012 Olympics.

Jamie will fly to Australia at the end of this year to take up this prestigious opportunity under the management of British Swimming’s Chris Nesbitt. Broom will continue to compete for Derventio eXcel when he swims in the UK .

Mark Rose , Head Coach of Derventio eXcel said:

“This is a fantastic opportunity for Jamie and one that he will make the most of. Last season Jamie made some excellent progress and this has been significant in his selection. At Derventio we offer Jamie every best wish and look forward to welcoming him back when he is in the UK . This is again another step forward for Derventio for our swimmers to be recognised at this level by British Swimming.”
