Award for North East Derbyshire Leisure Team
North East Derbyshire District Council’s Leisure Team is celebrating after winning a top prize at the local authority’s Staff Awards.
The Leisure Services Team (pictured) picked up the Top Team award during a ceremony at Ringwood Hall in Chesterfield.
Meanwhile North East Derbyshire lifeguard Jack Chambers, who works at Sharley Park Leisure Centre in Clay Cross, was a finalist in the Ace Learner category of the awards.
He was praised for winning the individual category at the Institute for Sport and Recreation Management Lifeguard Triathlon in 2007, beating more than 600 other entrants.
North East Derbyshire District Council’s Staff Awards recognised work done by those working in various departments across the council.
Awards were also given out for the Can Do! Winner of the Year, Community Champion, Frontline Star, Straight Talker and Unsung Hero.
