More than 100 East Midlands projects awarded the Inspire Mark

The East Midlands now has more than 100 projects and events recognised by the London 2012 Inspire Programme.

The London 2012 Inspire programme recognises innovative and exceptional projects that are directly inspired by the 2012 Olympic and Paralympic Games.

UK Young Artists became the 100th East Midlands project to be granted the Inspire Mark, the badge of the Inspire Programme.

The first UKYA event was held in Derby in October.

UK Young Artists is a new organisation working nationally and internationally to showcase young, creative practitioners between the ages of 18 – 30 whose work spans across all art forms; from visual arts to music, performance to literature.

Other Derbyshire projects awarded the Inspire Mark include Go Boccia, Derbyshire Village Games, Inspire and Respect, Derby City Sportsability and the Erewash Sports Academy Award.
