Players from the East Midlands Centre of Excellence for Cerebral Palsy squad will give a demonstration on the pitch at Pride Park Stadium before the match, and there will also be a blind football demonstration.
The event is part of a series being held around Derbyshire to increase public awareness of disability sport and the local clubs, groups and coaching sessions which are on offer for people with a disability.
Local sporting opportunities will be promoted on the day, with information included in the match day programme and in leaflets which will be handed out to supporters.
In keeping with the 2012 theme, The Movement – which has been awarded the Inspire mark by the London 2012 Inspire programme – will give a half-time performance at the same match.
The performance will feature girls from The Movement’s Step Up 2 Dance programme.
Rory Slater, Derbyshire’s 2012 Legacy Co-ordinator, said: “The 2012 Olympic and Paralympic Games are already inspiring so many people in Derbyshire.
“By showcasing some of the local opportunities that are available in this way we hope that even more people will be inspired to become more active by trying a new sport or activity.”
The Paralympic Games takes place in London from Wednesday, August 29, 2012 to Sunday, September 9, 2012.
A number of Derbyshire athletes are currently training hard in the hope of being selected to represent Team GB at the 2012 Paralympic Games. This includes wheelchair basketball players Maddie Thompson, from Hope, and Jon Hall, from Clowne, and CP footballer Leon Taylor from Chaddesden.
