The 15-year-old archer, from Kilburn and a student at John Flamsteed Community School, Denby, is a member of the Derbyshire Archery Club and was selected onto the Great Britain Academy Programme after successfully coming through a talent identification day.

Lauryn says: "I have achieved many new Ladies under 16 club records, two county records and an EMAS record, and have only been shooting for 17 months, going from a complete beginner to an Academy Athlete in a very short period of time.

"This is down to hard work, not only shooting arrows, but putting the hours in completing my strength and conditioning exercises and my determination to succeed. My aim is to one day be on the podiums at tournaments around the world and attend the 2024 Olympics.

"ICON support from local authorities and companies will help with equipment and travel costs, and ensure her strength and conditioning programme can be followed close to home in an Amber Valley Leisure Centre."
