The 17-year-old badminton player, from Oakwood and a student at Allestree Woodlands School, is on the Derbyshire Institute of Sport programme, a member of the Derby Performance Centre and part of the England Performance Training squad.
Josh says: "I am a right-handed badminton player specialising in mixed doubles and men's doubles.
"I am studying for my A levels at Allestree Woodlands School and I hope to go to the University of Bath and continue both my academic studies and further my skill and performance.
"I train every weekday (two strength and conditioning sessions supplied by DIS) with competitions filling my weekends
"I am part of the emerging squad of the Derby Performance Centre, as well as participating in weekly England Performance training. My most notable success is a bronze medal at my age group National Championships and due to this result I was signed to Team Derby for the inaugural National Badminton League which we went on to win.
"I aspire to win the senior nationals and I believe with the support I have, it is a performance target that is obtainable.
"In what is left of my spare time I enjoy going to concerts and going to the cinema or most of the time just staying in bed all day is a welcome change to the busy competition schedule I usually have."
