ALFRETON, RIPLEY & WILLIAM GREGG VC LEISURE CENTRES

It is an exciting time to join one of our three Leisure Centres in Heanor, Ripley or Alfreton. All our Centres are nearing the end of a multi-million pound redevelopment scheme which includes 6 brand new pools, state of the art Health and Fitness facilities, Sports Halls and Squash Courts.

Full time Football Development Officer

£17,000 per annum

2 year contract, with possibility to extend further subject to funding.

DC Leisure are seeking to recruit a full time Football Development Officer to implement a strategic development programme within the Amber Valley Borough area. This is a new post created through Partnership working and will report directly to a Steering Group. Key partners in the role include the following:

DC Leisure
Belper Leisure Centre Trust
Amber Valley School Sport Partnership
Amber Valley Borough Council

The role encompasses the following areas:

Growth and retention – increasing and sustaining player participation
Raising standards – creating a safe and positive environment
Better players – developing better players / opportunities
Running the game – leading and governing the game and its officials efficiently

To apply you need to be of graduate calibre or equivalent and have experience in sports development, and an understanding of the FA’s National Game Strategy. You need to be passionate about and committed to the development of football at a local level. You must be able to work under pressure, handle multiple priorities, be goal oriented, and meet deadlines. A Level 2 Football qualification is essential, along with experience and knowledge of football and multi skills development in Schools, Clubs and Community settings.

Candidates must be able to work as an integral member of the development team, and be able to work using their own initiative. Experience of managing projects/events to demonstrate sound organisation and planning skills is required. Excellent communication, presentation and IT skills will be expected. The ability to communicate at all levels using excellent interpersonal, presentation and communication skills is essential.

You will need a full clean driving licence, access to a car, and be able to work evenings and weekends.
